Cheri the Hammer戻る 高知県にお住まいのS.H.さんからCheri the Hammerのリペアご依頼をいただき、フレット交換、ブリッジプレート・リペアおよび弦周りのTUSQ化を行いました。
Finally managed to play The Hammer for a few hours yesterday and today (I see you have used the name on your homepage, which I thought was quite funny, but you should know that it is just my nickname for the guitar, on account of the way I used to "play" (i. e. hammer on) the instrument). The first impression is that the sound, especially higher up on the fretbourd, is much improved. It didn't use to bother me for a long time how it sounded up there, because all those years ago, like most beginners - and this was my first acoustic guitar, which is why I am attached to it - I wasn't that bothered with those higher regions, but now that I practise a lot of chord inversions and scales up and down the fretboard, the sound obviously matters much more and helps while practising. Also the lower strings, esp. the E-string, are finally playable properly, even have a bit of a fat sound ... I can even tune the whole thing down a whole note. So on the behalf of The Hammer and me, thank you very much for all your hard work and trouble.
Btw, which strings did you use, Custom Light or Light Strings?
Concerning the newly acquired Tamura Hiroshi guitar:
Well, let's schedule it for an overhaul then, I hope it survives until then (it's pretty beaten up). Thanks again, and happy repairs, lots of them.
Thank you very much for your kind messages !!
I am very glad to read it and I can imagine your smile face when you are playing the Hammer.
I did not know that the name of the guitar "the Hammer" was your private name, though.
Anyway, it is very good to enjoy music with your FIRST acoustic guitar.
The guitar should be happy now !!!

I used "custom light" string.
As the Hammer is a very bold guitar which means very big and strong,
I think that the extra light gauge string should be too weak for the Hammer.

I am very happy to repair your next guitar.
If it is broken and become unplayable before this summer, please let me know.
Again, thank you very much !!!
